Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia- July 25-August 3, 2005
Imagine 17,000 tents and 3,500 patrol kitchens popping up in a matter of hours. Welcome to 2005 National Scout Jamboree.
For the 16th time, the jamboree will bring together the largest group of Scouts and their leaders in the Boy Scouts of America history. Daily activities will include archery, bikathon, buckskin games, COPE course, conservation programs, scuba, kayaking fun, racing shell run, and raft encounters. Regional activity centers will include rappelling towers, trap shooting, an American Indian village, and an awesome merit badge midway. The opening and closing ceremonies, main shows and fireworks displays leave participants awestruck.
A youth delegation of 72 boys and 8 adult leaders is scheduled to attend from the Mt. Baker Council. Will you be one of them? In order to attend a Scout must be at least the rank of First Class or be at least 12 years of age by July 1, 2005, but not have reached their 18th birthday by August 3, 2005.
Applications are now being accepted on a first come, first serve basis. The Scout and a parent/guardian plus the home troop Scoutmaster must complete the application. Then turn in the application to the Council office immediately. Be sure to register early, as the 72 slots will fill quickly. The application form can be picked up at the Council office or downloaded here. To help answer your questions, or to schedule a presentation for your troop, contact Pat Bush 425-481-9515 or Eric McKell 360-752-0446. Applications must be accompanied by a $100 deposit.
After 10 fun-filled, memory making days at Fort A.P. Hill the delegation will be treated to a 7-day sightseeing tour starting in Washington D.C. and traveling through history to Philadelphia, Penn.
The cost of $2,500.00 for each scout includes the jamboree fee, travel and tour costs, meals, lodging, unit and patrol equipment, accident and sickness insurance, and the cost of pre-jamboree training. MEET ME AT THE HILL!
